i remember living in portland when ok soda came out, and there was this huge controversy over the advertisements...the ad co. that came up with the concept for OK had decided to include six-pack flats (the cardboard carrier for a six-pack of bottles) in the week's issue of the willamette week.
bad idea. they wound up all over portland, discarded as soon as someone pulled a copy of WW out of a paperbox. there was a small uproar over the litter....

Fri, May 14, 2004 - 1:39 AMhehe, we had a similair thing here in seattle. they decided to include an 10 x 14 sheet of stamps with the ok soda logo on em. Needless to say, my friends and I werent the only ones who thought to raid the weekly mailboxes and pillage the stamps. pretty soon we had raided every news box in a 2 mile radius, so we decided to drive to other known locations. Imagine my surprise when we found that many of them had been RANSACKED. It looked like a paperboy had exploded.
after about 2 days those stamps started appearing on bus stops, garbage cans, mailboxes, police cars (I had nothing to do with that *cough* ahem. yes.) So yeah. OK Soda caught a heap of shit for that one.
I think thats when I knew that they were on to something big with OK Soda. Those stamps DISSAPPEARED practically overnight. it was like everyone wanted em. -
